Dental Implants

A dental implant is used to support either one or more false teeth, it acts like a natural tooth’s root and is placed into the jaw bone to which a tooth is added on top, or if more than one is needed an overdenture can be used.

Implants act like natural teeth they also need caring for like normal teeth. If they are well looked after and are placed in good strong jaw bone they can last many years.

Placing an implant is a surgical procedure however, this is done under local anaesthetic and is often easier than taking a tooth out.

You will not feel pain at any time during the procedure but like any extraction you may have some discomfort for a week or so following the implant procedure.
